10/1/13 SED (something every day)
I'm tagging along with Teddyradiator, trying to do this 'something every day' thing. Since I don't usually post a lot I'm not sure how much I'll have to say but I'm going to give it a try.
Today is October first and the birthday of someone very near and dear to me. My younger son T, he turned 31 today. Happy Birthday T! Hubby and I took him out for a birthday dinner last night to Outback and had a nice meal and a good visit. He's the second of my four kids and the only one who is single. He's had some lean years, unable to find a permanent teaching job—he worked full time last year for the first time after three years of subbing—but due to budget cuts his position was absorbed and he is back to subbing again this year. Still he's hanging in there living on his own and working hard to make ends meet. He is a good boy/man who makes his mom proud.
This leads me to the conclusion that I'm very happy that we have somehow managed to raise four kids who have all turned out to be decent human beings (and believe me I honestly had my doubts at times, especially through the teen years!) While they haven't all found their niche in life yet, I feel like they are well on their way and that is indeed something to be proud of. ;-)
