Baby's home!
We went to visit the kids in the hospital yesterday (Sat 9/1) and by the end of the day the Drs agreed McKenna was doing all right and there was not much they could do there that mom and dad could not do at home. So she was discharged at the end of the day and they all went home. She is still running a low fever but they said that is her body fighting off the virus, so as long as it isn't too high and she is not in discomfort that is OK. She also had a bit of diarhea yesterday which may have been from the virus, but also could have been a side effect of the anti-biotics from the day before. So they went home and all seems to be going well today.
On a side note, I learned that Thomas (2 1/2 year old brother) may not be as ambivelent about baby sister as I first thought. On Thursday while they were in the ER with baby, Mollie's mom had brought Thomas home from day care. Mollie said they came home from ER Thurs night to pack a bag before driving down to Grand Rapids. They did not have McKenna with them (she had already been sent ahead by helicopter). Thomas took one look at them and said, "Where's MY baby!" I think perhaps he thought they had lost her somewhere. LOL! He's very happy to have them all home again. Plus the giant 3 foot tall Mickey Mouse helium balloon that McKenna brought him back from the hospital may have helped too. :)
Thanks again, Flist, for all the wonderful support. You're all the best!
