Is TPP gone?

Did I miss something. I don't read much there anymore but just popped over to check something and the site's gone, It's not there--at all--nada--nothing--URL not found message comes up. I had no idea, am I the last to know? Now I'm sad. I've been in HP fandom for nearly 13 years and now I'm thnking about the all the HP archives I've seen disappear over that time and some of the stories are lost forever if they weren't posted elsewhere. Because of that I used to routinely save fics I liked to my laptop but i've been complacent lately and haven't been doing that as much. Damn! this sucks! Somebody tell me it's just a glitch, or they're down for routine management or something.

Maybe it's a glitch, but I have a bad feeling. When I tried to access from a saved link it goes to a completely different site--Lenz. But when I googled it and went there I get the URL not found message.

Like I said I don't go there that often but I think it was only about a month or two back, and I hadn't heard anything about problems so I'm freaking out.

OK, I've found the server. The host server Westhost has closed down and all content migrated, so TPP just has to contact them and get re-setup on the new CHI.Westhost.com servers.

It’s not gone. If you are on Facebook, there’s a post explaining what’s going on. My understanding is the site will be hosted at a temporary site while the entire archive is being rebuilt by a developer..

I would think there are quite a few, because TPP has been around at least since, if not before, I discovered fanfic in 2007. Some of the authors that posted back then have since left the HP fandom.

Thanks rey, Toby posted below that they are having the site rebuilt and it will be down for a bit. Hope it all works out. I was freaking out because there have been a few archives I used to use that just disappeared overnight without any warning and I feared the worst. Since TPP posted it on FB I had no idea since I rarely visit there.

My lj account just died and I’m starting over, trying to remember who was on my friends list and adding familiar names I see. Just happened upon your post and I’m glad I did because I would have panicked when I went there and found it missing. TPP will always be my favorite archive, and I hope it never goes away. In fact, I’d love even more if it was still a really active site, but I’ll take it just as an archive. So many great friends made there, so many great authors discovered there. Thanks for the info.

The software is being rewritten so it can work will all the modern platform standards. It will take time, but I think it will be wonderful when all the bugs get worked out.

I’m really excited to see the new TPP! I will definitely friend you ... once I figure out how. Technology makes me feel older than I am 🙄
