SED 10/6/13

Sunday 10/6/13

Well, our babysitting weekend is over, and we are back home. Now I think I need another weekend to recover from this one. I told my d-i-l that I don't know how she does it everyday because I was exhausted after less than 24 hours. LOL! Lord knows, I've done it all before and with four kids too instead of two, but I guess that's why we have kids when we're young—we have the energy to handle it then.

I did have to laugh though about T, the 3½ year old. Like I said yesterday he was a gem for us and didn't give us a bit of trouble. But no sooner did his parents get home and within an hour he was acting up, throwing a tantrum and getting put in time-out. I had to hide a smile at his antics, it reminded be so much of my own son, (not this boy's father, who is my oldest son, but my other son also a T—hmmm now that's a coincidence). He had such a temper as a toddler and young boy, he would throw tantrums and had mood swings like you wouldn't believe. Then when we would go to school conferences his teachers would say how nice, and quiet and even tempered he was. I felt like looking at them and saying, HUH, whose kid are you talking about??? But like grandson T, I think it's just that he knew when he could vent safely and when he needed to keep himself under control. :)

Well back to the regular old grind tomorrow.

I'm guessing that this wasn't a weekend where you did any writing? (Asked the hypocrite)

I am glad you had a good weekend. Now just take some time to your self and relax.

The people we live with and see on an everyday basis, we know how to "play them". Even at such a young age, we figure out how to get what we want from them -- whether it be a candy bar from the grocery store or attention. Others that we do not spend as much time with -- teachers and grandparents fall into this category -- are unknown quantities. And teachers have always hold that "this will go on your permanent record" threat over your head, so one tries to be well-behaved around them.
