Halleluia! LBB fic done and random rambles
I got my LBB entry sent in, barely under the extended deadline! Yay! I wasn't sure I could manage it but finally got there. Whew! that's a relief. Now I am lazing about playing catch up on the exchange fics posted today and some of the WIPs updates I have been ignoring this week.
On a totally different note, we're going to a Lions game on Sunday. Son # 1 got 4 tickets and asked hubby (who is a rabid lions fan, even in the abysmal years he was loyal). Originally son was going to ask a couple buddies but then thought perhaps us girls would like to go along. I am not a huge football fan but I can always entertain myself by people watching when my attention drifts away from the field. So son and his wife are headed down early tomorrow (it is a much longer drive for them), they have a hotel in downtown Detroit, at the Ren Center, then they will come out to my daughter's home in Royal Oak (where we are going to stay) when she gets out of work, to drop off the toddler. Katie has agreed to watch Thomas for overnight and then for game day. She doesn't get to see him very much, since her brother and she live so far apart, so will hopefully have fun babysitting her only nephew. Plus, the fact that we are spending the night there, hopefully will make it easier for my daughter-in-law Mollie to leave him, as this is his first over-night stay away from mom and dad. Hope the Lion's win for hubby's sake at least, it would make him happy I'm sure.
I also still haven't posted any pics from Katie's wedding last month. Things happened so fast afterward,( within three days after the wedding we were headed to Florida for father-in-laws funeral.) All the snapshots I have on our camera aren't great and are pretty random, as we were too busy doing other stuff to take a lot of pics. But when I get some good pics I will post a few. In reflection, the wedding was beautiful. The weather was perfect, Katie was an exquisitely beautiful bride, the ceremony went smoothly and was lovely as well. The reception was good up until when Katie started feeling sick as soon as the food was served and she then spent the next couple of hours either in the ladies room or outside in the parking lot getting air. She eventually recovered enough to have a few dances and finish out the reception. I honestly believe it was more stress and nerves than anything else. But all's well that ends well and the happy couple had a fabulous honeymoon in Puerto Vallarto and are now settling down back into their normal daily routines. :)

I know all brides are beautiful, but she was breathtaking. The photographer is taking a long time getting the pics together but I'm sure they will be great. He showed a slideshow of pics on a laptop at the reception and they were great.
It did suck her feeling sick, and I think she felt guilty, like she was ruining her own wedding reception. She has always been a rather shy, doesn't like to be the center of attention kind of person. But I think it could have been a lot of things, low blood sugar, a little dehydrated, stress. A friend of the family who is an RN gave her half an anxiety med from her son, and she did feel well enough to go back to the reception. I will post some pics when I get a few good ones. :)

Congratulations on turning in your LBB fic!
Hope you have fun this weekend, and for the sake of all of us, I hope the Lions win. The team and the die hard fans deserve it after many disappointing years. I wish I had known you'd be down here... we could have met for a coffee talk... Maybe next time you're in town?

I really would have liked to meet you for a coffee chat, we really do have to get together sometime. We aren't going down til this evening when Katie gets home from work, then we'll be busy all day tomorrow meeting Ben and Mollie before the game for brunch, then the game. Maybe sometime in the next few months I can come down for some holiday shopping with Katie and we could arrange something then. ;)
