Just wondering?

So, does anyone know if the the Restricted Section is down for good? I know Bunney posted a couple days ago that is was down but I was really hoping that it was just a glitch or something. I've been checking a couple times a day to see and it never loads. It constantly says Problem Loading Page. I didn't visit there often, but there were some good fics that I will miss if it really is gone forever. :(

Between that and OWL playing hide and seek, I'm losing a few of my favorite fics.

I know. It's awful! I've had issues with OWL for quite a while, not so much with reading there, but as far as posting fic. I started posting my first SS/HG exchange story from 2010 and after the first few chapters posted, there were two chapters that sat in the queue for months. When I e-mailed I got no response, so I just eventually just gave up, they are still sitting in the queue as far as I know. Because of that I don't really go there much anymore. I remember when Colored Grey disappeared and many great Dramione fics were lost forever. :( That's why I try to save my fave fics now, But you can't save them all, ya know? I'm always scared either my fave archives will disappear or the author's are going to pull all their fanfic off the net.

It's like the history of HP fandom is vanishing.

Every time this kind of thing happens, like with Coloured Grey, I kick myself for not saving everything. I try to save the good stuff as I read it, but all the classics...it's just too much, you know?

I'm desperately hoping it's not gone for good, but I haven't had any luck with it lately. It's sad because there are some fics that were only archived there, so far as I know.

I hope it's not gone for good either, but it's really not looking very good right now. I know I've saved a few fics from there, but not as many as I should have. I'm pretty sure that is the only site that had LOTM's epic fic 'For Someone Special'. (lucky for me that is one that I did save.) But there are so many I didn't. :(

Good to know you have For Someone Special. I think ladyofthemasque's Corsicuum was only archived there as well. OWL is going to be very upsetting if it goes down for good. Everytime i get in I try to download something I know is exclusively there!

I was only about half way through reading 'For someone Special.' I hope that site isn't gone for good, because I loved reading on that story when I had back to back days of quiet time and could devote uninterupted time to it. 'For Someone Special' and 'Corsicuum' were two of LOTM's stories that I hadn't completed, and now I'm kicking myself.

If you ever feel inclined to share, I would be grateful to get a copy of either one. Or both if I'm telling the truth.

I just got into HP fanfic I this year and have been working my way through stories. It not good when story archives goes down. I am SS/HG shipper if anyone has any stories that are good send them my way.

I hope not. I didn't go there often, but I'd be very sorry to see it disappear. Especially since OWL seems to be dead as well. It's like the fandom is getting smaller, and fics, archives and authors are just disappearing.

I know dreamy, I find it very sad and scary. I came to the fandom late. I didn't even discover fanfic before DH was published so to see some of these older 'classic' stories and archives just disappear, gone forever, is devastating.

It is. Like you, I came to fandom late (a few months before DH was published) and have missed the "classic" era and the apparently heated discussions surrounding some topics and stories.

To me it often feels like I'm only hovering on the brink of fandom and, because I'm shy and reserved, find it difficult to make friends, get more involved etc, though I'd love to. And now it seems that fandom is diminishing instead.
