Posted by one of my flisters libertyelyot.  On 4/26/11 AR posted a full page ad in Empire Magazine  to say a final farewell and thanks to JKR. I have to agree with liberty, he's a real classy guy. :)  Read it here if you haven't already.

Whew, what a moving little tribute. Now I KNOW I'm going to be sitting in a theatre in July, crying my big stupid eyes out. Thank you, AR, for making the best character even more beautiful.

I thought so too. And I do think that Snapes' character is by far the most interesting of all when you learn the whole back-story. And although I have been known to complain that AR is much too old for the role of Severus, I can hear no other voice than his in my head when I think of SS. I just have to picture a younger AR and I am happy. rather like this:

Well, I've loved him since Die Hard, and I remember living in England and SQUEEEEEEing when I heard he was playing Snape. I've never minded his age, because to me it was all about characterisation, and I love the way he played Severus - I just can't help myself!

That was awesome. For all the talk that he didn't like playing Snape, it's nice to see that appreciation for the opportunity.
