Well, our trip is nearing an end, we head back home tomorrow. I will post an update when I get home but I wanted to post a few pics from our fangirl meetup at the San Diego Zoo on Saturday. My daughter Jessie and I met up with mundungus42, keladry_lupin, arynwy, and lillithj.

We had beautiful weather and we all met at Chez 42 Nouvelle. It was supposed to be at 10:00 but Jess and I arrived early because I was paranoid of getting lost. Took us about an hour and twenty minutes to drive from Tustin. Mun42 and I squeee'd over getting to meet for the very first time. Soon arynwy, kel, and lillith arrived and we were off to the zoo.

Wooo Hooo!  Only one week to go before my daughter, Jessie and I depart for our vacation. One week from tonight we will be winging our way across the country headed for California.

There is a mini fangirl meet-up being planned for Saturday March 3 in San Diego. We are looking at spending some time at the zoo and then I am hoping we can do some kind of late lunch or early dinner afterwards. mundungus42 has offered to be our tour guide and keladry_lupin is going to come too. Any other takers for a fan girl day, or if not the whole day at least for dinner?

Some other things we plan to do on our trip include: one day at Disney, haven't yet decided between Disneyland and California Adventure. But my friend we will be staying with has connections and can get us a free pass so that is cool. And she is also checking out getting us into a show being taped in Hollywood. Of course we want to see the beach, as neither of us has seen the Pacific so we can't go all the way to California and not see the ocean.

We are both getting more excited everyday. Only seven days to go!

I had my very first meeting ever with one of my invisible friends today. (I used to say my online friends were my imaginary friends, but then someone said no, they are very real but you just don't see them).  My online friend and world's best beta clairvoyant12 and I met at an outlet mall that was part way in between our homes, closer for me, but she wanted to shop, so convenient for her. I was not shopping but met her for lunch. We had a great time chatting about everything from families to fanfic to how we got into the HP fandom and in general had a really lovely time. I was halfway home when I realized I had brought my camera with me and completely forgot to take any pictures. (DOH!) So no pic-spam to share but had a really fun time and we both agreed that we want to do it again sometime. :)

I was talking with dear daughter last night that our California trip is less than 3 weeks away. Eeeeek! Time is flying fast.

We are going to be staying with an old friend of mine in Orange County (Tustin to be specific). I posted early last week to see if any fangirls from my flist might be in the southern California area and interested in setting up a meet up, and Mundungus, Keladry_Lupin and Blueartemis expressed an interest. I'm wondering if anyone else is interested. And if so when and where? (Mun, did you get the message I sent through LJ messaging?)  Minus travel days Jessie and I will only have 6 days there (3/1 through 3/6), so time will be tight, and to be fair to Jess, I can only devote one day to fangirl fun.  I would really like to be able to pull this off. Any takers?
