Okay, this is driving my hubby crazy and I have no idea how it works. But I tried it too and it guessed my answer right every time! It's freaking me out!

Hee! Thats what Mr M. keeps saying, can they see me, are they reading my lips? I have no explanation for him, but I did assure him I am sure he's not being spied upon by regifting robin. :D

The result of the calculation you do, you will always get a number that's multiple of 9. Each time the grid refreshes, it makes sure that in each square whose number is a multiple of 9 is the same item. For instance, when I looked just now, in the squares numbered 0, 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, 81 etc was 'cuff links'. Then the second time I looked, the item in all those squares was 'cookie jar'. So, basically, you always get a multiple of nine and the game always makes sure that those squares always contain identical items, and then when it flashes up the answer, it simply shows you the gift that was in all the multiples-of-nine squares.

I've just re-read this post and realised that I sound like a total fucking nerd, LOL!

I just got an email from my daughter before reading your post with basically the same explanation. Now I can assure Mr.M. that the computer gremlins are not watching him through his computer screen and performing Legilimency on him. LOL

Just kidding! Thanks for taking the time to explain how it works. I could see that the gifts were listed on multiple squares, but didn't make the connection between them.
