The Big Reveal!

Well now that the big reveal is up I can own the fic, Things That Go Bump in the Night. I know that the original prompter had to drop out of the exchange, so it was posted as a gift to one of the lovely pinch-hitters ,
sarablade. Sara, where ever you are, I know the prompt was not yours, but I hope that you will enjoy reading it anyway. MHS, I'm sorry that you had to withdraw from the exchange, but I do thank you for the original prompt:Even after the war has been won by The Order's side, Severus is still reviled for his Death Eater association, and thus unable to find employment. He delves deep into his Muggle roots to earn his living, albeit in a magical fashion. Prejudices from Voldemort's reign still have impact on Hermione's world. She never completed her NEWTs, therefore she doesn't have the credentials for employment in the Wizarding world. She finds a way to use her magical knowledge to provide a much needed service in the Muggle world... Ghost busting. I had an absolute blast writing this fic.
Special thanks go out to my beta-reader/brit-picker
talesofsnape, even when I dropped the last two chapters on her at the last possible minute she came through in a pinch. Thanks go also to Tales for the beautiful banner she created for my story. More thanks go to my alpha-reader/cheerleader
morethansirius, who cheered me on and offered some terrific ideas that were incorporated into the fic. Their help was invaluable and I greatly appreciate both of them. Virtual *hugs* to both of them.
Now for the thank you's for my own gifts of art, About to Fall and Fairy Lantern (sketch). There is a little story behind this. Two years ago I offered to write fic as a birthday gift for my friend
talesofsnape, she gave me the one word prompt 'fairy'. From this came my gift for her a ficlet titled The Fairy Lantern.
For the past two exchanges, for one of my art prompts I've asked for art of the scene where Severus releases the transformed fairy Hermione from the fairy lantern. Lo' and behold for this exchange I got my wish with not one but two lovely pieces of art. But that is not the best thing, now that the reveal is up I've found out that the artist was non other than the lovely Tales herself! While I adore her writing I had no idea what a wonderful artist she is. And she was most devious about the whole thing, after begging the mods to grant her that prompt, she figured I might be suspicious if she didn't write a fic, because I knew she had signed up and I often alpha read for her. So she wrote a fic To Catch a Thief as well for another recipient,
pennfana. What a sneaky snake she is, I'm sure she must be Slytherin. :) Thanks so very much dearie for the fantistic art and wonderful surprise.

Date: 2013-03-07 12:57 am (UTC)I'll take this moment to reiterate my enjoyment of your Exchange offering. I still love the fact that they went their own way when the wizarding world let them down - and I still wouldn't have guessed Slughorn.

Date: 2013-03-07 02:04 am (UTC)We had out own little fest during the lag time between the deadline and the start of posting. It took me a while to realize that it would be rude to post something from one of this year's prompts before the person assigned that prompts got their version posted, so I've held onto it until the reveal and asked whether she minded.
