I'm home!

Hello all! I'm back from my travels. The cruise was fun--smooth sailing and good weather. There were lots of things to do on board, shows and activities, lots of yummy food and drink, and friendly people--both fellow guests and staff.  We went ashore in Nassau and did a short tour, about two hours, with a guide who drove us around and showed us historical sites and told us a bit of the the city's past. He was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed the tour. After the tour we wandered around a bit and bought some souvenirs to bring home. It was very hot though there and I am not particularly fond of hot weather (I know, I know if you don't like hot why go to a tropical vacation. Hey, it was a long winter and tropical sounded good, but now I remember why I hated going to Florida every single year when the in-laws were still alive). [no offense to my Floridian flisters]. So I was quite happy to get back to the lovely air conditioned ship. Still the cruise was fun and I'd do it again sometime.

We got back to Michigan last night, but spent the night at my daughter's home, and  drove home today. It's good to be back. I missed my dogs and our elderly 'old lady' dog looks like she has lost weight. My son who was coming over to feed them and check on them everyday said she ate when he fed her but she never ate all of her food which she usually does. I think she was pining for us.

I have been catching up on emails, and my flist.  I had quite a few reviews awaiting me, which was nice, as I had just finished posting my sshg_exchange fic to the various archives before leaving on vacation.  I will have a few pictures to post but I'll get to that in a few days. :)

Welcome home! I shall look forward to your pics. And I know what you mean about Florida. Heat and humidity are not my friends.

Thanks MTS. Like most vacations it's fun to go but also a relief to get home. I loved the cruise, but I told my hubby there is only so much forced fun I can tolerate, I think 5 to 7 days of a cruise vacation would be about my limit. I did find time to just relax and do nothing but read for awhile. I managed to read two books and one novel length fan fic while on the trip.

Mwah! I'm really glad you had a good time. I hope you recover from your exertions soon and that your pooch puts on the weight you've lost. Your parcel was sent n its way last Monday, so keep an eye open.

I recommend the cruise vacation. All your food and entertainment on board the ship(aside from alcoholic drinks, gambling and shopping are included in the price). So, cost wise it is worth it. For us, the air fare was nearly as much as the cruise, but we had some sky-miles saved up which helped to offset the cost. Many people on the cruise were from Florida or nearby states and could get there more easily.
