Monday 10/7/13

Back to work today. The day started out cold and rainy but we had a peek of sunshine by the end of the day. Hope to have a bit more throughout the week. The leaves are starting to fall fast, I'm predicting that within two weeks the trees will be bare. Once they start to go it doesn't take very long.

Got a call from #1 son today asking if we felt okay. Seems M and him both had nausea and diarrhea today. They suspect food poisoning from the brunch buffet they had before returning home yesterday. Especially since neither of us or the kids were sick after the weekend. What a lousy way to finish up their anniversary weekend!

Speaking of anniversaries, hubby and I have one coming up next month. I had a bonus certificate for a $99 companion air fare any where in the continental US and it had to be used up before the end of the year. So we are going to Las Vegas the end of this month, we always wanted to go there but never made it before this :) It's supposed to be for our anniversary but we are going a little earlier because hubby goes deer hunting with his brother every year and that is only six days after our anniversary. We will actually be there on my birthday too, and Halloween. More news about about that trip in coming weeks.

I'm not getting much writing done lately, just can't seem to concentrate for any length of time. :(   I have something I'm working on but it is very slooooow going right now. I need to do something to get back on track, but I haven't figured out what it is yet.

Oh well, anyway... That's all for today, folks.   ;)

I have a feeling you're trying to get ahead of my nagging... :P

I'd offer a banner but there are so few good Lucius piccies to work with and then trying to come up with something that fits, but isn't spoilerish and the challenge becomes more than my presently fuzzy brain wants to deal with, especially since PSPro is running like a dog on both the netbook and the laptop. The netbook would need an external drive before I could flatten it and the laptop which Brad has passed to me now he has uses his tablet most of the time needs him to take off all his 'sh!!*' (which he claims isn't the problem) and in both cases he needs to dig out the system disks. With everything else I just use the laptop/netbook for remote access to the PC and do all the actual computing there, but the PC has different version of PSPro installed and it means the layered files aren't compatible between it and any of the other machines, but the other machines have the fonts I'm used to working with on them and the PC doesn't... Okay, I think I'll go find the aspirin now before I finish my cappuccino so I can use it to cover the nasty taste.

And you're off today so get typing! Cracks whip.

That's why I never do buffets in restaurants. Things are seldom kept warm enough to stave off bacteria. That's if it's even cooked to the point of killing it in the first place. It's not foolproof to order from the menu, because, as we all know, fools are SO ingenious. But it's much more likely to be properly cooked and served hot.

That's probably a good policy. They said the food was good, not that that's any compensation for being sick the next day.
