Pic spam from Scotland part 1

here are a few pics from our trip so far, I can't believe that it's half over already. Our two weeks in Scotland end on Saturday and we move on to Ireland.

This one isn't Scotland, but it was the start of our trip. This is me with my adorable grandson. We stayed at my daughters house the night before we left and our son-in-law drove us to the airport.



This is me again, but now it is Scotland. This is Rosslyn Chapel, if you've read or watched the Divinci Code you will remember this.



Hubby, outside Edinburgh Castle:



This is inside the castle walls. Can't recall what it was originally, but it's now a Scottish war memorial.



This was the sign for a restaurant just outside the entrance to the castle. We didn't get to eat there but it looked really cool. :)



This is Alnwick Castle in Northumberland, England. I got to meet talesofsnape and spend the day with her here.



Here's Tales and I together before heading into the castle.



Alnwick was used for filming some scenes from the first two HP movies, we think the flying lesson scenes were filmed here.



And some familiar visitors showed up during our tour of the castle. ;)



This is Glammis castle, the childhood home of the late Queen Mother. It is only a few miles from our last cottage.






I will post a few more later. Today is our last full day in Scotland and tomorrow it's on to new adventures!

And it really was a great day. It just flew by, though. Is Glammis the castle from 'The Scottish Play'? I know it's spelled differently in the play but it's not as if WS even spelled his own name consistently.

Yes, Glamis is that castle (I just realized today that I was spelling it wrong when I programed it into the GPS and it couldn't find it. LOL)
