I just impulsively ordered an e-reader. I've wanted one for quite awhile and have put it off. But I was perusing some sites, comparing different models and after about an hour decided: oh, what the hell! I hit the buy me button and took the plunge. I ordered the Sony PSR600. So does anyone out there have this model or something similar? Do you love it? Hate it? Tell me what you think.

It's my birthday gift (later this month) to myself. Last year hubby and I said we wouldn't buy gifts for each other's birthdays because we were going to get our passports for each other. Well it's a year later and we still don't have them. (I hope sometime in the next year or so to finagle a trip to Ireland, it is somewhere I have always wanted to go, and damn it it I'm going to get there come hell or high water! I just don't know when).

I've been wanting to get one of those. They look so cool. My hands will sometimes get cramped up when I'm reading a book. Of course the same thing might happen with a reader. LOL

I got the Sony 505.

Best thing I bought in years!

With all the internet cut offs here, I am glad I can put loads of fanfiction on it and read it wherever I am - waiting at the doctor's, in bed, waiting for the electricity to come back on...

The only annoying thing is that now my daughter and I want to read at the same time and there is only one reader.

My husband has one, though it's the previous model, I think 505. He is very demanding when it comes to gadgets and this thingy? I sometimes think he loves it more than he does me. Did you get a memory stick or an SD card with it, too? I think it only has about 350Mb of in-built memory available, and I remember Mr. filled it up in no time.

I have one, and it's brilliant. I'm going to get one for Mumsy as well.

It can be a little tricky getting stuff onto it and organising it if you use the expansion slots - and I do because it filled up quickly - but you can take hundreds of books with you and never be caught out. I'm going to use calibre software to try loading books on and see if that gives better results.

It can lose charge if you don't use it and leave it lying around, so it's important to plan ahead and know you need to check the charge before you go out. And it's worth getting the mains lead to charge up with because you can't read and charge with the usb lead, but you can read and charge with the mains lead.

It's not hard to get things on, but if you want them in collectins it can be hard work to get them sorted out. Especially if you're trying to organise 400 books. Do it as you go, and it'll be easier.

If I charge it overnight, I can get a whole day's reading out of it. 8 hours or so.
