Any Fangirls in Southern California?

I will be taking a trip with my daughter to California, arriving 2/29 and leaving 3/7. We will be staying with an old friend of mine from high school who lives in Tustin, in Orange County. Time will be tight, but if there's any chance of a meet-up with any peeps from my flist I'd love to kick the idea around. I will have a rental car, and would be willing to drive up to a couple hours as long as we can incorporate some sight seeing into the day. Since we are arriving mid-week on a Wed. night and leaving the following Wed. morning I was thinking maybe on the weekend.(I will have to check with my friend also to make sure she hasn't organized any plans yet), but I first wanted to see if anyone might be in that general area who might be interested???
A bit of background: I am really looking forward to this trip, it is a mom-daughter trip I've planned with my baby as she is getting married this summer. Several years ago when my older daughter (the one that got married last fall) was in college we took a trip together to Washington, DC. She had planned a spring break trip with friends and when their plans fell through she was very disappointed. So I offered to go on a trip with her (as long as it wasn't a typical college spring break trip! LOL Not for me!) She decided she wanted to visit DC as she'd never been there and wanted to go (history major-geek). We had a great time and I will always remember our mom-daughter trip.
So it occurred to me that aside from girl camping trips, I had not done something similar with Jess, and I really wanted to. So I asked if she might be interested in planning a trip together. We tossed out a few ideas, NYC, Vegas, etc, Then I remembered that my friend has been asking me to visit for years and recently mentioned that her son had moved out with friends so they now had an official 'guest room'. And so voilà a plan was made. I am very excited to be able to spend this week with my baby. And I must say hubby is just a peach about it all. I was a bit worried he might object (he has been known to be a bit tight with the purse-strings on occasion), but when I mentioned my plan and how I really wanted to do this with Jessie, his very first comment was, "You should do it. You really should, it would be a great time for the two of you." Awww.... what a sweetie. After 38 years together, I guess I'll keep him. ;-)
So if anyone is around that area, let me know.
