Just got my November patch. :)



Here's your November Patch. It has 8 stars - the maximum - because you left more than 120 reviews during the month! Wow! You make Hufflepuff really proud!

It's been fun participating in OWL's housecup challenge, and even though Hufflepuffs chances were slim due to sheer numbers alone, we had fun trying! And I've read and reviewed a lot of stories I might not have without the incentive. So only a few days to go but it has been loads of fun, thanks go to the OWL staff for organizing it!

Don't know if anyone would be interested in nominating any of my fics (if so I would be ever so grateful). ;-)

I am a new fanfic writer,  and just began posting this year. So technically I am eligible for the Potions Apprentice: Best New Author.  

I should note that I do post under different pen names, madeleone here at LJ, also as magdalena and magalena at various other archives (as noted in the side bar on my LJ site.)

Most  of the fics that I wrote that qualify are drabble series so most nominations would be in the hiccupping solution category.

I posted several links to stories at OWL which were not posted until a later date but they are eligible as they did post elsewhere prior to the cut off date, but I thougt perhaps some people might prefer to read there if they are already a member.(didn't want to confuse anyone or have someone think they were posted too late.)

I write a lot of fluff, some humor, some romance or you choose the category. :)

These are posted in such a way that anyone wishing to nominate may simple copy and paste the ones you so choose.

Hermione peeked through the crack in the doorway and couldn't believe her eyes and ears. Severus Snape, bent over the changing table handling the nappy like it was something he did every day. He seemed a bit too familiar with the whole process to be a newbie. What was going on here?

 

“How's daddy's precious little witch today, hmmm?” He removed the nappy with magic but cleaned her carefully by hand, applying the special baby bum balm he'd created to prevent a rash, he then put on a dry nappie. “There now, Leah, isn't that so much better?”

Severus stood at the porch rail, coffee in hand surveying the back yard. His eyes rested on the outhouse in the far corner of the yard.

 

“A knut for your thoughts,” she said, slipping her arm around his waist.

 

“We need to take that eye-sore down. No one will want to buy this place with an outhouse on the property.”

 

She studied the ramshackle structure. It had seen better days, surely. It's unpainted gray boards weathered and worn, the entire thing listing slightly to the left. It looked as if a good strong wind would take it down.

The group was drinking and laughing. Someone from their Hogwarts days, seven years earlier, might have found the combination of characters a mystery. There was a blending of houses and no one was threatening each other; in fact, everyone was getting on famously. The rivalries and prejudices of childhood had been put aside amongst all who were gathered at Draco's home in celebration.

 

Several in the group had completed the arduous process to become masters in their respective fields: Draco in Potions, Luna in Arithmancy, and Hermione, ever the swot, with dual masters in both Arithmancy and Charms with a minor in Potions.
