As I mentioned yesterday I met my daughter K for a girls afternoon out.
First time I'd seen her in about a six weeks and while she's really not showing yet, (although she said some of her pants are getting too tight) her boobs are definitely bigger. LOL! I told her so too. We had lunch at Chili's and both got the 3 appetizer sampler platter, she loves the southwest eggrolls and she gets 2 of them and crispy chicken strips. I got the SW eggrolls, honey chipotle chicken, and loaded potato skins. It was yummy, we each had extra to bring home and had a nice long visit over lunch.
I took her shopping to buy a couple maternity tops for work. We only stopped at Target, but the selection there was minimal and very picked over. She said she'd seen some cute stuff online from there, but there wasn't much to choose from in the store. We bought one pullover sweater and I told her I'd get her a gift card so she could order something she liked.
We also looked around at baby stuff. We're planning a shower in Jan or Feb sometime. She said her in-laws have already offered to get the crib. We looked at strollers and she said her hubby's sister was telling them about this stroller she bought--said she did a bunch of research and it was THE best. Price was well over $500. K is somewhat appalled by this as am I, (his family has money but really, $500 for a stroller?). She said she'd looked online and found one she liked for less that half that and it includes a removable infant seat. I told her I'd be willing to get her that stroller as a gift, but if hubs is set on the Cadillac of Strollers, it's out of my price range. Sheesh!
Anyway a lovely afternoon was had and am now home vegging out playing games, and reading smut on the laptop. A great end to a great day. :)
