Heading Home

Thanks to all the lovely members on my flist for the condolences and safe travel wishes. M-I-L has been laid to rest and things went smoothly, as well as can be expected in this type of situation.

We will be heading home to Michigan Tuesday morning, although it will not be quite the mad dash it was getting down to Florida. We will take a night on the road going back rather than driving straight through as we did to get here, (made good time at 22.5 hours).

I have had sporadic internet here (just picking up a random signal, as in-laws don't even have a computer). But will be glad to get home to my pets and back to a normal routine. Really need to get back to work on my LM/HG exchange fic, I've gotten a one week extension and a good thing too as I have been way too distracted to do any writing while here. Have been trying to relax in the evenings by reading the SS/HG exchange fics.

Well, not back entirely, we've stopped for the night just south of Chatanooga, so just a little less that halfway home. But motel has wi-fi. I'm going to rush over to check it out. Oooooh I'm so excited.

Thanks, we've stopped for the night, will have bit longer drive tomorrow. Made good time, no major delays or back-ups. We knew we were going to hit Atlanta at rush hour so we stopped for an early dinner and by the time we got back on the road it was all clear. :)

Yes, we're fine. Mum was 84 and had not been in good health for several years. But even when you know it's coming, it's still a shock when you realize she's gone. But everything is good. Thanks so much.
