I have to wonder what is in some people's heads...

Is very confused by reviewer who reads a story which is clearly labeled Hermione G. & Severus S. then leaves comments such as:

I'm not impressed this was Snape - I honestly was expecting Remus

????Why on earth would you expect Remus when it's HG/SS???

I might just run to the bathroom to throw up at the thought of Severus naked

????Then why the hell are you reading HG/SS????

I'm still weirded out by his presence in this story, by the by.

????Why would you be weirded out... it's a HG/SS story????

Then on the last chapter she says:

Very nice story, I quite enjoyed it.

But then feels compelled to add:

You should be impressed that I stayed on to finish it despite the whole thing being about Snape and Hermione - I've never been a fan of Snape

AAARRRRRGGGHHHH!!!!

I have only posted snippets of her comments here, but upon reading some of the wording of her comments, I am thinking that she is very young.

But still, if you don't like Snape and don't want to imagine him and Hermione together then for gods sake don't read stories labeled HG/SS!

My dear sister, I can sympathise more than I can say!!

I really don't know why people do that. You know, after all the warnings on "I Want That One", I still had someone flame me after chapter 2, saying, "I'm sorry, but this is just too disturbing for me. I thought this would be like 'Princess of Gryffindor', but I'm through. This story is just too upsetting"

You don't say what you'd really like to say (I'm still trying to figure out WHAT to say to such blatant stupidity), but yes, you do want to say, if you don't like it, then why the F*&^ are you continuing to read it?

Obviously I shouldn't get started, because it does make me crazy. I don't like Snarry, I don't like SNupin, I don't like dramione. So, ergo, I don't read them. What would be the point of me reading them to review them by saying, "I hate this pairing and the thought of Harry giving one to Snape makes me want to throw up in the bushes?"

GRRRR. Hang in there. Maybe she will dream of our dear professor tonight, and he'll show her exactly why we love to read about him naked! You will have created a convert! Think of writing as a public service. ;)

Perhaps it's because they're so used to you writing different pairings that they started reading without paying attention to all the important notes and labels at the beginning of the fic? I honestly don't know what to tell you. It's very surprising that anyone would make these kinds of comments, given how large the HG/SS community is - it's one of the largest supported ships in the fandom!!

Hmm. Then I have nothing. People are stupid? I think that's probably the best explanation.

It is strange that they would read a fic that's clearly posted as being HG/SS if they don't support that pairing - or in the case of that one reviewer, seem to like Severus in general. :(

It's very confusing. I can understand reading a pairing that you might not otherwise, just because you've heard good things about the author or the premise looks appealing. But to read when you actively dislike a certain character, one that is going to be the lead in that story, seems absolutely ridiculous.

That's not even con-crit. That's whining! Confusing people are confusing. You want I should break her/his kneecaps? *practices swinging sledgehammer*

Grrr. Stupid confused reviewers are stupid.

~hugs you~

Let it roll like water off your back. Totally that reviewer's bad.

Hahahaha - if, as you say, she might be very young, she probably wasn't thinking. The best you can hope is that when she grows up a bit, she realises just what a brat she was when she was younger and is mortified ~knows that feeling~ :P

Few things make me happier than that kind of response. Taking someone who didn't want to like it, and winning them over to the ship.

She may not have expressed herself well, but it really is a positive comment!

It's really a miracle they were able to read the story at all since it's so very apparent they're completely unable to read the pairings label. ~shakes head~

There is no place for whining in reviews! She obviously couldn't be bothered to read the pairing, warnings or summary before starting to read so it's too darned bad. No whining allowed, unless of course you eliminate Snape from my SSHG. The I reserve the right to whine!

I have to laugh. When I posted "Whom the Goddess Chooses" for you last year, one of my reviews was, "Huh. I was expecting it to be Draco at the end." There's just no words sometimes...

I really do have to wonder about people who aren't able to read the main characters tags (if on ff.net, the main characters don't necessarily mean they're paired, after all, but it DOES mean those are the main characters in the fic! so if there's romance, it's likely to be between those two...) - and yet somehow manage to read the fic.

Oh, and I agree with Mia; in a way, this is high praise. The sort of praise that's hard to take for the author, especially when preceded by whining about the pairing and Snape throughout reviews, but still, something about your story kept her reading, and reading, and reading, so... Definitely a positive thing.

But yeah. I know I'm missing a huge amount of brilliant, awesome fic out there, but I just don't like any other pairings, so I don't read them. Seems rather simple.

Poor you!

I know sometimes I miss stuff because I go straight to the fic when I get an email from OWL. Maybe it's something like that, but you sort of wonder how you would be on her email preferences in the first place given you write almost exclusively SSHG...

Well, I never read the key signature before I start playing a piece of music ...

That said, I usually go back and check as soon as I play a wrong note.

Stupid people are stupid. But you obviously beguiled her in spite of herself.

Stupid reviewer is stupid. One wonders why she didn't check the pairing tag before reading. Don't let it get to you.

LOL Those reviews are so whacky. Why are they reading SS/HG if they don't like Snape? The next thing you know, they will be complaining that it's an HP fanfic. I can see it now.

I'm very surprised I liked this story, because I really don't like HP fandom. In fact, I really had a hard time getting through this story. Next time, do you think you think you could write X-men instead?

Of course, that's when you want to send them to www.writeyourowndamnstory.com
