Just an FYI, Aurette has started posting her fics at AO3.

As some of you may recall, three of her fics got booted from FFN several years back in one of their 'purges' and had been archived at another website, fanfic junkies, I think it was. Anyhow it has now disappeared and people were PM'ing her on FFN asking her to post the fics over at AO3. She said she remembered I'd sent her an invite 'a bajillion years ago…' and she'd finally dug it up and figured out how to sign in and post. So she's starting with those fics and I believe eventually plans to repost all her stuff there. (just to be clear this is a reposting of her old fics, not any new stuff).

Still, I was quite happy and surprised to get the notice from AO3 that she had posted there. So I checked back in my email archives, and sent her a note, hoping the addy was still in use (hard for me to believe, but it had been six years since we last corresponded). Luckily it was still active and she responded and explained the reasons she was posting at AO3. I added my 2 cents and said I think it is a much more stable platform than FFN, with no worries of fics being booted or the archive disappearing like so many of the smaller ones have.

Anyway, just want to pass this info on to anyone interested.

Yes, I got a sweet little Drarry ficlet from [livejournal.com profile] enchanted_jae for my birthday yesterday. It's titled: Sex and Strawberries and is posted at her LJ.

I had a very nice birthday. Hubby got me a card with a restaurant gift card and a some scratch off lottery tickets (which unfortunately did not yield a jackpot for my birthday, but it was still fun to hope for a while that they might). LOL! I got calls from both of daughters during the afternoon along with greetings from the grandkids and also got gift cards from both as well as a new suncatcher to add to my collection from oldest daughter. My younger son who lives closest came out for dinner of beef roast with potatoes and carrots slow cooked in the crockpot with a sampler cheesecake for dessert. I even got a late call from oldest son who is notorious for not remembering anyone's birthday. So all in all a very nice birthday indeed.

Here is a pic of my new suncatcher. I think he needs a name but I'm not sure what. Any suggestions?

Both were fabulous.

Things I've been up to:

Mostly laying low, staying in, and keeping warm, what with all the cold weather and snow we've been having here.

But Mr. Madeleone and I did venture out last week to receive our first Covid vaccination, we had made an appointment in advance. I must say I was quite impressed with the efficiency of their set-up. The clinic was set up by Meijer (a large super-store chain here in the midwest, for those that might not know who that is) and they teamed up with SVSU, our local university. So there was signage set up directing us to the correct building and parking lot, with campus security and student volunteers directing everyone where to go. They even brought forms right to our car to fill out so we were all set to go when we got inside. There were no long lines or waits as I had read of in some places. Everything ran like clockwork: we checked in, verified our appt. time, got sent to a booth to turn in insurance info and got a preprinted info pack, then sent to a booth to get the vaccine, then to a waiting area to wait our 15 minutes to make sure there was no reaction, and then we were done. In and out in less than half an hour, and our appointment for the second shot is already set up for next month. We will feel more secure once we've gotten both shots as hubby especially has serious medical issues that put him at a very high risk.
