There's a handsome new man in my life. My brand new grandson Samuel John M., born last Saturday March 29th. 8#13.8 oz and 21.5" long. Daughter K. and SIL B. are very proud and happy first time parents. She went into the hosp early Sat Morning around midnight when her water broke and the little man took his own sweet time arriving that evening at 7:55pm. We drove down to await the arrival and got to see him when he was only a couple of hours old. Here's a pic at one day old:

Wow! I am finally recovering from a busy weekend. Now I know what my dear departed mother-in-law meant when she used to say of our family visits,"I'm so happy to have you come and just as glad to see you go." :)

All four of my kids, along with spouses and grandkids came for the weekend. We had lamented back in Feb that we don't get to see the grandkids enough and daughter-in-law, M, said we should plan a family get-together. She said something to my daughter K, who is the organizer. She immediately passed the word and got everyone to agree on a date and hence it was organized. (my nickname for the weekend which seems to have stuck is the FFF weekend or Forced Family Fun weekend). In other words Mom says you're going to show up and have fun whether you want to or not, damn it!
